Community-Based Assistance
Both National and International Community Assistance run the risk of enforcing outside directives on local communities and their ability to adapt to their own futures in their own ways. As such, Alistar approaches such work with a focus on "participatory methods" to ensure projects are derived in the communities (from their goals and plans), by the community members themselves, and addressing the priorities of the communities, as determined and articulated by the community members themselves. These projects are often times undefinable at initial stages, as a process of planning with the community/group is a critical beginning stage.
